Can I install the old Wood style ships wheel on my 2007 21EC ? is it the same hub as the original 21 Tug ? if so can I get one from the factory? :?:

I am pretty sure we have tried this, and it will not work on the R21. I haven't done much research myself but will check some more. I have most of the staff out this week so might be a little longer wait to get my question answered. Will check back with you as soon as I can. Happy Holidays!

Thank You I will check this out! . . . and Happy New Year!

Hello Andrew, I got the Wooden Ships Wheel from the source you said and it looks and fits perfect ! Thank You ! Michael. . .

Michael,

How difficult was it to install the wheel? And which diameter wheel did you get. the 11" or the 16"? My first mate is going to get this for me for my birthday. 🙂)

In advance, thanks!

Norm

I got the 16 inch because at first I didn't know that the 16 inches is the overall outside diameter of the spokes! it looks a little small but you should have seen my First Mates face when I ordered the 11 inch one by mistake! and had to send it back for the 16 inch one ! it looks great and if you send me your e-mail I will send you a photo of the wheel on my boat! My e-mail is santulli724@yahoo.com

Sure, here is my e-mail: marshhawk@verizon.net.

I went ahead and bought the 16" wheel and I can only imagine how the 11" one must have looked....grin. Do you remember offhand the size socket you needed to remove the old wheel? The nut appears to be larger than anything in my toolkit.

Best,
Norm

The size should be 3/4 " and you might need a wheel puller! Mine popped off with a little tap on the bottom of the wheel from under the dash! Good Luck, Michael . . . 🙂

Yes, it takes a 3/4" socket. And I popped the old wheel with some judicious hammer tapping and screwdriver prying. But you didn't tell me about the key! Was that a test? Luckily I didn't lose it in the bilge!

The wheel looks great though and I couldn't be more pleased with it! Thanks for your information and pics!
