I've owned my new to me 2015 RT-25 SC for a year and a half. Two of the batteries say 2017. It is time for new. I'm considering replacing with exactly what is there -- Universal AGM TYPE - 121000. 100 Ah
Bank of four: Starter / 2 House / Thruster
I wouldn't mind a bit more power overall but not sure how necessary it is. We go out 5-7 days, mostly at anchor in SWFL in and around Everglades / 10,000 Islands, etc.
It's always seemed to be 'leaking' somewhere. My nephew did some checking for me and found two batteries with bad cells. Since the age of the batteries is way up there,
I'm going to replace all four and start fresh.
Is there a better, similarly sized battery set I should be considering?
I have a MACE generator as well.
The replacements for exactly what I have is in the range of $300 each. Easy to come by and quick delivery, which I would prefer.
Does anyone know if these are the standard type of batteries shipped from the factory when the boat was new?
Are there special requirements for the starter battery to crank the Volvo Penta D3 150 HP?
Thanks for any comments and possible solutions.
