We have a 2014 Ranger29, and recently the propane switch/fume detector stopped working. The power light is on, but when I hit the button to turn on the gas, the "on" light does not come on and there is no click at the solenoid and of course no gas. I occasionally have had the solenoid not open properly in the past, but could normally get it to open by turning the switch on and off several times. The solenoid was replaced last year. I bypassed the solenoid to get propane to the stove for the time being.
So, questions:
If the solenoid is disconnected, would the "on" light still come on and I would see 12V at the leads going to the solenoid if the switch was working properly?
Where is the fume sensor for the xintex? Is it the switch itself, or is there a sensor elsewhere?
There is a current xintex sensor switch available but it does not have the square bezel and 4 screw holes like ours does. Has anyone found a way to replace the switch without leaving holes visible? I assume I would have to fashion a plate to mount the current round version switch to hide the holes. Our parts meister Richard (bless his heart) is investigating a replacement for me, but I'd appreciate knowing if anyone else has dealt with this.
