Are the 2022 models with outboards going to go to Digital Electric Steering (des) or stick with hydraulic. Am specifically asking about the c288

Hello,

At this time, I believe we are sticking with the hydraulic steering. With a twin, I imagine we will use the Uflex power steering just as we do with the Cutwater 32. The main issue with Yamaha at this time is their processing time for parts is really backed up. We can only rely on them for the main engines at this point. Never know what the future holds once the parts situation is cleared up but the Uflex power steering works really well!

Thanks for checking in!

Ok, mine isn’t due to be built until next year, maybe things will change by then. Thanks for the information.

Andrew, as I’m looking at the helm master from Yamaha, it seems like it comes in pieces. I think some of those pieces are already on the boat as standard equipment. I’m trying to cost out how much it will take to upgrade to the full system, but am not sure what is included in the stock system. I am assuming the following:

CL7Part #: 6YD-83710-00-00 engine display is stock
Twin-Engine Binnacle Control Part #: 6X9-48207-00-00 is stock

Is the auto pilot Garmin or Yamaha

What is the model of the Yamaha outboard? (Hopefully DES compatible)

I’m assuming I would need to purchase and install the following:
des module for each outboard with wiring harness
Auto pilot with gps antenna
2 joy stick controllers (helm and cockpit)
2 digital steering wheel (helm and cockpit)

Hello,

The easiest way is to contact our parts department by phone so they can provide you with part numbers of what we install. We do install the DEC engines on all of our new boats. The phone number is (253)839-5213. Press option 2.

Thank you!
