I have a 2022 Cutwater C32. It spent its first 3 years in salt water and the Tilt/Trim Assembly has gone bad. I will try to include a video of the sound it makes when raising or lowering the engine. It makes a grinding noise and slowly moves the engine. I use MarineMax for service and they say the Trim/Tilt Assembly needs to be replaced, the Yamaha part alone is $4500 - $5000 plus labor. There is a company in Florida that can rebuild the assembly for about $1500 to $2000 but it depends on condition and the parts that are needed. Add another $700 if the motor also needs to be replaced. My question to the group is rebuilding the assembly a good option or just bite the bullet and replace it with a new assembly? Has anyone else experienced this issue?

The seals on my F200 went due to scratches on the hydraulic rams. The Yamaha dealer offered to replace the entire assembly with a non Yamaha replacement at half the cost…after I gasped at the cost of the Yamaha part. Eighteen months later still fine.

Hi @DC3
My PTT went out last summer but was only $500 new so, I replaced it. I took my old one and had it rebuilt for $150 as a spare. Sounds like your scenario is much different. In searching for someone to rebuild the old one I had a hard time finding a reputable shop to do it. Tough call.
