We got it set up yesterday morning, took a bit of playing around to figure out the Yamaha interface and procedure for programming. Once operational it worked like a charm - spent the rest of the day touring with the Trim assist on, one less thing to play with as you're on the lookout for whales... and logs of course! Tip - the manual doesn't mention that all the pre-sets need to be filled. I found it easiest to figure out the trim angles ahead of time and enter them into the "Static" option entry field. I only needed 2 setpoints,
1) 0% trim @ Idle,
2) 37% Trim at 4200
and in order to work I had to fill out...
3) 37% trim @ 4300
4) 37% trim @ 4400
5) 37% trim @ 4500
I will likely play around with the numbers later - was more interested in getting it working and the feel of it. I also noticed that if you manually trim with the trim assist on, you'll need to adjust the throttle to one of the entered setpoints. Have fun!
