I purchased a 2012 Cutwater 26 and the previous owner did not really maintain the boat very well.
I was hauled out to do a bottom job, replace all external zincs, replaced the head pump and raw water wash down pump, replaced the stuffing box with new flax, and waxed and cleaned the boat.
When we launched and on the way back to our dock the stuffing box would not drip and he shaft was heating up. We tied up to a marker and found that the mixing elbow fitting that has the hose that goes to the stuffing box was clogged up.
We took the mixing elbow off and also found that the exhaust hose (4") was blistered on the inside from excessive heat. We cleaned the elbow and after we put everything back together we made it home.
I purchased new 4" exhaust hose and started to look for a replacement mixer elbow Yanmar part number 120650-13930.
I was told by my local Yanmar dealer that that mixer elbow was no longer made. I have gone to the Ranger/Cutwater Parts department, the Yanmar USA headquarters and various other Yanmar and exhaust system dealers and have not received any replacement for this mixing elbow. Does anyone know where I might find a replacement part to be able to continue with upgrading and maintaining this engine.
I would think that the Ranger/Cutwater company would fix this for me but I guess not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
