Does anyone know of a "Chilton's" or "Motor's" type manual for the Yanmar 4JH4-HTE engine? I have the Yanmar manual that was passed down from Steve and Tina, but either I am woefully inept at reading and comprehending or the manual is lacking in detail. Either way, step-by-step instructions with clear, easily identifiable illustrations would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Joe,

Do you have the ~400 page service manual? I know there used to be a link to it somewhere, I'll try to find it if you don't have a copy. Worst case, I can try to email it to you (98 mb) if you'd like.

Mac

Thank you, Mac. All I have is the 186 pg. +/- Operation Manual. If you cannot find the link, my e-mail is jemyall@yahoo.com.

Did you by chance get a Yanmar CD? All of the manuals should be on it.

I checked with the CHILTONS publisher when I bought my 2007 Ranger 25 this past July, and was told that they had no publication on the 4JH4-HTE engine.
I also have only the 136 page +- OPERATIONS MANUAL and would love to have something more detailed and complete should it exist.
Please contact me at 239-775-3493, or EMail at bobatwork2006@aol.com

I checked on line (where I originally got it), and cannot find the Service Manual posted any more. I think there may be an easy way to post it so you can copy it, but I don't know how. I'd bet Bruce knows how though ...Bruce?

fyi - this would be the JH4 Service Manual published by Yanmar, P/N: 0BJH4-U00102

If all else fails, I can copy it to a CD and mail it to who ever would like a copy... Give me a day or so to see if we can post it first.

I might also suggest copies of "Marine Diesel Engines" by Nigel Calder, and perhaps not as good, but useful "Troubleshooting Marine Diesels" by Peter Compton.

Mac,
I've been using DropBox to exchange photos and information with someone on-line. It works well and eliminates the need to break large files into smaller ones for e-mailing. I'd suggest trying that first. The web site is https://www.dropbox.com/home
There's no fee for the "entry level", just register, place the file in your DropBox and enter the e-mail address(es) of the person(s) with whom you you want to share.
Thank you, again for your expertise and willingness to share your knowledge and resources.

Rick,
We're the third owner. The second owner purchased the R-25 from a broker, so I suspect it was lost the the shuffle.

Bob,
We'll make sure you receive a copy.

Dave "Lobo" and others,
Once again Tug Nuts come through!
I used Dave's link for the Google Search and came up with this website
http://boatinfo.no/lib/yanmar/manuals/jh4.html
I was able to burn the file to a CD, so I now have the info I need.
Thank you very much.
Joe

I tried the DropBox idea, and mailed a link to both you (Joe) and Bob. It took forever to load the file into the drop box, but it appeared to work.

I think Dave's link is a heck of a lot easier

Mac

Thank you, Mac.
I now have the same manual in two different formats. Better to have too many than none.
