Yanmar engine mounts - Isoflex?

Hi,

I have noticed worsening corrosion on the rear engine mounts of our 2011 R-27. The bottom flange has been flaking off and getting thinner. Anticipating replacement in the near future, I have been researching mount options as the Yanmar mounts seem to run about $350 EACH!

Has anyone used anything but Yanmar mounts?

I have recently been in touch with Isoflex who offers a compatible mount for somewhat lower cost. This mount also has a polymer base meaning no more corrosion. It sounds pretty good, has anyone ever used these on a tug?

I replaced mine as did others. We all wound up going with the Yanmar. Can't remember why. I had my bottom plates coated before installation. Look at it this way, you get 12 years out of the first set. Your good for another 12 years. I also had the engine removed and replaced all the difficult to get to hoses. Check to make sure all the bolt holes for the mounts are in good condition also. I had two bad holes. I cleaned them out, let them dry, filled with epoxy and then re-drilled. Also installed a dripless stuffing box.

To close this issue, I ended up replacing the mounts with 'Metalastik' brand mounts. These matched the mounts that I took out.

On review of the Isoflex mount drawing, the width of the bases was considerably wider than the Metalastik mounts. Due to the tight fit of the mount on the stringers these wider mounts would likely not fit.
