Zinc replacement - Elliot Bay Marina - Seattle

Does anyone have any recommendations for diving services to replace our zincs at Elliot Bay Marina in Seattle? Dorothy has been in the water for about 4 months now and we think she's due to be checked. thanks!

Call Shane McCall, Emerald City Diving. They're based in the marina. We've used them for years and are very happy. They'll call you before the scheduled date to let you know, and then call to let you know what zincs were replaced, running gear and bottom paint status, etc. You can provide your own zincs, or they'll provide.

Agreed. We just started with Shane and after the first dive we're on his books for regular service.

We purchase the Lola B a year ago April and was very concerned about zinc deterioration. When we pulled her in November we noticed about 40% deterioration. The only concern was the prop zinc was gone along with the retaining bolt. We have been told this is common. We are in Poulsbo and I assume the environment is similar. If you have the ability to pull the boat it takes less than 20 minutes to change all the zincs, and a good hull inspection, bilge drain and wash. If you have antifouling bottom paint add another 20 minutes for power washer cleaning and the bottom looks new.
