We have a 2008 Ranger 25 with a 110 hp Yanmar. Took delivery of the boat in March of this year and will be replacing the zinks for the first time. I understand that there is no engine zink to be concerned about. However, I would like to know how many thruster zinks there are and if any special tools are required.
If anyone can help with this, I would appreciate a response.
Thank you!

Thruster zincs are very small and on each thruster prop. Boat must be out of water or use a diver. only need a small allen wrench.

Prop has a bullet type zinc also uses a allen wrench, Genset has small zinc in air cooler needs a wrench, I added zincs to trim tabs

The thruster zincs are actually on the end of the thruster opposite the propeller. That would be the port side. You can change them without a diver if you don't mind getting in the water. Too many alligators for that down here in Texas.

One zinc for each thruster. The zincs were around $9 each I believe. Get them from Andrew through the parts requistion if possible. My first set I got directly from Imtra corp.... I keep 4 in stock in my spare parts kit. Boat is always in the water and those zincs are very small and can be dropped quite easily.

Ooops. Correction. The zinc is on the port side of the bow thruster, but on the starboard side of the stern thruster.
