I have a switch on my panel, snuggled in between the horn and wiper switches that is labeled, "Docking Lights." I thought it might turn on something. I was wrong in that assumption. I guessed that there might be some wires hiding beneath the teak panel centered so carefully along the center ridge of the cabin roof that might be labeled Docking Lights; for an optional accessory that my boat is tragically missing. Removing the trim and opening the nicely bundled corn cob of wires, I found one pair of leads labeled Spot Light.

After careful examination of gyrating needles on my multi-meter, I have determined that the ceiling pair of wires labeled Spot Light are hot any time the house battery switch is on; no matter the position of the Docking Lights switch, snuggled in the aforementioned panel.

Two questions: Should there be a spotlight switch somewhere? And where are the Docking Lights wires going to after they disappear into the mass of wires below the panel switch? I could say that I am pulling my hair out over this quandary (because there is sparsely any left), but really I am just mildly annoyed at my own lack of skills in troubleshooting this problem.

Thanks for guidance, snark, or enlightenment that may be coming my way.

I've never heard of an R27 having dock lights. The C28 had dock lights. They were head-lights, to be used when docking.
The spotlight power, the early models, 2018/2019 used to come with, or could have as an option, a spotlight installed in the mast. I believe it was operated via remote control. The issue, the light reflects off the bow rails and destroys one's night vision making the spot light impractical. The best place to mount a spot light on the boat would be on the bow rails up by the anchor, so when lit, there's no shiny stainless bars in front for the light to reflect.

There are wires on the back of the switch that go somewhere. It would be handy if they went to the anchorchain locker. I am thinking of mounting an oscillating fan on the center teak strip and pulling power from the spotlight circuit there. When I went to Gig Harbor in the snow a few weeks back, I could barely see a thing because my breath kept fogging up the windows.i have not yet mastered holding my breath for an hour.

Your boat is the only one I've ever seen that had a label for dock lights.

Well that makes sense. Most people tell me that I am a little different, so my boat fits the profile too.
