I’m planning on our new to us dinghy this weekend. It’s mounted on the factory lift system and has a 2.5 Yamaha outboard.
I’m wondering how awkward it is to mount the outboard on the dinghy.
It seems to me that I would have to lower the dinghy then retrieve the outboard from the mount on the port side. I would then carry the motor over to the starboard side and use the rack sidewalk to walk out to the dinghy. I would then step into the dinghy with the motor in order to mount it.
I think it would be easier if the either the sidewalk was on the side of the dinghy stern or the weaver davits were on the starboard side of the dinghy.
Any suggestions would be welcome. I really don’t want to drop the outboard!
