Anyone know where it is? I found my ecu in the starboard lazarette and the ais600 is under the helm seat, but no idea about the garmin CCU?

Hi there,

You should be able to find it in the q-berth, on the forward outer side. You can access it by removing the rat fur covered panel that is on the top outside of the q-berth "ceiling". You will find some square head screws at the corners of that panel. Once you remove them, you can simply pull the panel down. The CCU should be on the side panel facing the hull, approximately below the throttle. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf

Thanks Ralf! can you offer some guidance on why mine is continually getting out of whack from my compass? My boat was crawling sideways and in reverse on garmin screen on my recent trip down from the gulf islands. Given the location of the CCU, there's not much opportunity for anything metallic to be near it? Wondering why this continues to happen every so often... I will turn off all my power and do the recalibration again, but it's somewhat tedious to be doing that so regularly...

Thanks!

I'll jump in and say that this happens somewhat on our C30, too. Not as much as you describe but still quite noticeable.

I have gotten accustomed to activating the "dealer mode" to set the heading correction. If needed here are the steps. On the autopilot:

Select MENU
SETUP
SYSTEM
SYSTEM INFORMATION
Hold center button for 5 seconds
(Dealer Mode should appear on the screen)
Select BACK
BACK
MENU
SETUP
DEALER AUTOPILOT CONFIG

Then select fine heading adjustment and make it match the compass (or straight ahead on the chart). If it gets off again -- which may happen after big turns -- then just the last two steps are needed. Dealer mode stays on until the AP is turned off.

It is a minor pain but at least is reliable while I try to figure out any root cause.

Thank you! I find the sea trial wizard to work pretty well, and I’ll try the power cycling too, and try your recommendations as well.
