Add another CMP 175 watt solar panel

We have a 2025 R27LE and would like to add another CMP 175 watt solar panel(Total 350watts). What is required to properly make this upgrade? Does the factory wiring and solar controller support the additional 175 watts as a plug and play option?

Hi Bruce,

On your R27, the solar panel wiring is tied into the DC-DC charger (located in your port hatch). The DC-DC charger is only rated for one 175-watt panel. On full sun days it will throw an overvoltage code on your DC-DC display. You will need a separate solar controller that is rated for a higher voltage. When we add a bigger panel or add panels, we use a 30 amp victron controller. You may need extra 10 guage wire to connect the batteries to the controller as well.
