This is an easy, affordable, not so aesthetic solution to hot Texas summers. We purchased the following unit from Home Depot last week...
LG Electronics 9,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner
Model # LP0910WNR Internet # 202051352
Store SKU # 111200
$299.00/EA-Each
Free Shipping
It sits on the passenger seat and the vent fits perfectly out the porthole when you remove the brass screen. It's bulky and we strapped it in with a bungie cord. It sits on a 16X24 piece of plywood. We worked out a fitting and plastic tubing to drain the unit. Plugs in for shore power and I guess we're now in the market for a Honda 2000 generator. On a 100 degree weekend, it kept the cabin in the mid 70's. Like I said, it's not pretty, but it sure works and makes for a comfortable retreat.
