Andrew , spoke to you about my wiper motor.
Now my ac is not working properly it freezes up constanly
I've had that's issue for a while whatever I can still use the boat until it's resolved.
Friday my wine cooler died it worked less then a month.
Don't need a wine to take out my boat. Now my engine warning light says water in fuel
And the cap at the base will not come off
Believe me I disconnected the sensor and 3 people tried to get it off
NOW I CANT USE MY BOAT. I'll call you tomorrow but this is getting tiresome

Thank you for letting me know. Let's make sure and touch base with the dealer so we can get someone out to address the issues on the boat. Regarding the fuel filter, not sure why you need to get the cap off if you are trying to drain water out but this would be done at the bottom of the housing. I'm sure we can contact a Volvo dealer to assist in making this right or I can put you in touch with our in house Volvo expert if you would prefer. Were you able to run through an orientation on the boat before you took it home? Do you know if all systems were operational? When we deliver boats we try to make sure you stay close for a few days to ensure issues are handled before heading home.

Please touch base with the dealer you purchased from first and I will have our warranty manager work through these issues with them.

Sorry for the problems.

I'm just a little frustrated . I did get a through orientation from Reed
The Volvo manual on page 97 gives the procedure to drain water. Remove sensor then the cap ,drain water.
That cap will not come off. I spoke to reed today and they are working on all the issues I'm having

Well, I am sorry that you are frustrated with some of your issues. It has been my experience that it takes a year to work out the kinks. The good part is that Ranger has been very responsive in these situations.

I found that the bottom cup seems to be over tightened with the initial install. I had to remove the entire filter assembly, dump the fuel and gently place the cup in a vise and then turn the filter with extreme force to loosen it. When you replace it do not tighten it as much. I would also recommend using a little anti-seize on the drain plug so that you can drain using that rather than removing the entire assembly. My experience has also found that the water alarm is sometimes triggered by the additives such as Valvetech and there is no water in the fuel.

As far as your air conditioner goes; have you checked your settings? I have found that you need to use the setting that will regularly defrost the coil. These boats are not air tight and if the humidity is high the coil will freeze up.With the defrost setting it will reverse cycle and defrost the coil and then go back to cool mode.

Wine cooler - I buy cold wine and drink it before it gets warm. Did you check the breaker, the settings and connections?

All I can say is be patient. We have small boats with big boat systems. They are complex and need constant attention with a learning curve. Ranger is better than most boat manufacturers. However, if they had a better Total Quality Control system in place they could save themselves a considerable amount of after sales grief for themselves and the customer.

Hang in there. We had quite a few things that haunted us the first season too, but touch wood, this season has been great. They are wonderful boats and Andrew and staff have helped us along the best they could. You will get through it and as an ‘aside’ you will learn a ton of things about the boat. 😀

So along the lines of this thread I would ask (seriously), if you buy a new Ranger Tug is it not the obligation of the dealer to fix items under warranty? Is the owner required to get the boat back to the dealer? I read so many threads of owners with brand new boats who are looking for answers to their problems here on this forum. So it isn't just a phone call to the dealer and they come fix it? When spending this much $$$ I would hope excellent warranty coverage would be included.

Ranger tugs factory and staff are some of the best in the business to honor warranties and go beyond their duties to help you out if there is a problem. There are plenty examples on this site to vouch for this. If some devices that are not made by ranger fail or misfunction they will help as much as they can.

But let's be fair too. Most manufacturers will ask for a product to be returned to them or an authorized dealer. Easy with small items a bit more difficult with larger product like our boats unless you are located near a dealer.

I don't expect the factory to send someone out to fix any problem, warranty or not. However ranger had done that in some
cases when there were issues with propulsion. Usually a motor technician was sent. Again this was third party warranty.

I can not find anything that the ranger tug staff could do any better. Their service is top notch. They learn from what they
see here on tugnuts and from the feed back they get from owners.

New products need to be worn in. That's not part of manufacturing or qa. Some people buy used to avoid that process. That's part of owning a boat. If I want to avoid it, I would rent.
