I have a 16lb Lewmar claw anchor and thinking of increasing the weight but I don't want to make any changes to the bow roller, does anybody have any experience with this or suggestions.
thanks

I put a stainless Rocna 10 (and 50 ft of stainless chain) on my 2011 R27. I had to move the bow roller forward to the rear bolt holes and put on a taller bail. The anchor comes up and houses easily on the roller. Just be gentle with the last few feet of chain when retrieving so you don't slam the point of the anchor into the plastic bow board. I went stainless for the cleaner aspect of the metal when doing part of the Loop. As stated by other contributors on this forum, stainless is "more slippery" and comes off the bottom holding less mud/dirt, etc.

My 2011 R27 has the Rocna 16Kg. I didn't install it myself as it was there when I bought the boat so I can't say for sure what's different but the bow roller looks the same as what I've seen on other, similar boats. It comes close, but does not touch the bow when fully pulled up.
I've never wished it had a smaller anchor.

I just put a Rocna 10 anchor on my 2025 R27 OB. I also attached a Manutius Anchor Guard (MNT AMPORT) to the stock bow roller. It all fits well with no chance of the anchor tip hitting the bow. It did require changing the bow roller bolt with a longer bolt 3/8 -16 x5” with a lock nut. The bolt supports the Anchor Guard on the bow roller.

That is the same Lewmar anchor I have on my 2011 RT 27, and found that I improved my holding by adding 75' of chain to the 35' that was already there and cut off 95' of the 5/8 rode so I now have 220' of ground tackle and in 25' of water I get 4 to 1 ratio with 100' out, have 65' to 75' of chain laying on the bottom.

Ended up going with the Vulcan 9 not had to make any changes to the bow roller but will put something on the bow board to protect it.
Thanks everybody for your response
