Summer is fully upon us and we hope everyone has had a chance to get out on the water and have some fun!

This month’s theme is: Your favorite boating photo of the summer! – We want to see that photo that you’re most proud of from this boating season.

It’ll be put up for a vote by the folks here at the factory and one lucky winner will receive a pair of custom embroidered Ranger Tugs or Cutwater boats jackets.

To enter the contest, just send a photo with a description or comment to briandickhaut@rangertugs.com

I’ll get us started with a couple shots from our recent Broughton’s Cruise!

Pierres-Echo-Bay.jpg

We had taken a seaplane to Pierre's at Echo Bay to meet with the rest of the group. This shot was taken during our sea trial aboard R-23 Simpatico. Tim Bates from our customer service team was helping the owners calibrate their auto pilot, and it made for an excellent photo-op. On the quick sea trial we happened across a whale only a few hundred feet from the harbor, it let out a massive sound and after a few splashes it disappeared under the surface. When we returned to the harbor I was able to catch this reflection, and it just reminds me that there is so much below the surface, just as there are so many memories wrapped up in these photos.

This second photo was taken from the cliff top above Pierre's. I love this photo because it was such a trip to get up there. We had just gotten back from the sea trial and the Harbor Master Sam pulled up with his boat not more than thirty seconds after I got back to the dock. He brought me to the other side of the water where Dockhand Elliot guided me up an overgrown trail that wandered up the cliffside. Some areas required a rope to hang on to, as the grade was so steep, but before too long we had a spectacular view of the harbor, the twenty or so Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats, and a grand view of the surrounding landscape. It was only a slight test for my fear of heights but the reward more than worth it.

We can't wait to see the photos that you all have to share!

Getting us started off this month is Bill S!

"Our first ever night "on the hook" at Von Donop Inlet, Cortes Island in Desolation Sound... the gentle glow of nearby anchor lights... and the inquisitive stare of our midnight visitor... so cool!"

From the Schnack family:

"This summer we hosted a bunch of French exchange students, and a friend donated a giant flamingo for the kids to hang out on. So here we have our boat, Five Buoys, along with five exchange students (plus our son, Trevor), and one giant flamingo! Five Buoys is known & loved thoughout our neighborhood, but the flamingo & the students have been quite the talk of the town this summer!"

"During our trip to Southeast Alaska this summer with a buddy boat we were heading north through Chatham Strait on our way to Sitka. A humpback was heading south and had just passed our buddy boat. We saw the whale head straight towards us and dive just as it approached. We sat in silence wondering where he was going to come up when only about 60 feet in front of us there he was! Click, click, click, I had the shutter going on rapid fire as he came up and dove again as he passed by. The first photo shows his tail as he headed for the deep. The second photo is shot by our buddy boat looking back at us a second later as he dove."

"This photo makes me laugh so much. It’s my grandson who found this cute little Tug boat and claimed he wanted to buy it for his Mom.

It does follow the Ranger Tug R23 and R27/OB designs with its outboard…. Maybe it is the Ranger Tug’s secret R10."

"Thought I’d submit a few shots I took this summer in Teakerne Arm (Desolation Sound) in the coveted waterfall spot. Thanks for doing this contest, it is a great way to keep the Tugnut community engaged!"

"This is an image of our 2015 R21 EC “RedBird” at the Boundary Waters Resort on Lake Chatuge in North Georgia.
This is a beautiful Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) lake in the Appalachian Mountains of North Georgia and Tennessee.
They have a private boat ramp and provides free dock space while staying at their resort.
The image is the view from our room.
We spent several days on this lake with some dear friends from Vienna Austria.
A great place to cruise in late summer."

"Our favorite spot (and activity) on the boat no matter where we are, this happened to be one of our two trips over to Port Ludlow."

From Martin E.

"This is my Cutwater 28 at F cove in New Jersey. While F cove is famous for being featured on the reality TV show ‘Jersey Shore’ it’s also known to be a beautiful little spot that is often very quiet. On weekdays at least. Its part of the Forsyth National Wildlfe Refuge, administered by the National Park Service. One of the few places in New Jersey where its easy to beach an inboard. Got to love that bow ladder!"

"Here is a picture for the photo contest if you want! It is my 2014 21EC. The best part about these boats is that you can trailer them anywhere and have a great day where other boats cant go. Here we are at Harriman reservoir in Southern Vermont. I love my Ranger Tug. Such a great boat that is perfect for day trips and overnights. The only problem at the boat launch is all the people who come over to look at our "cute" boat while we are putting it in or out!"

From Lois and Dan C. on R-27 Classic, North Star

"this photo was taken in July at Shoal Bay on our way to the Broughtons. Not only is the setting stunning, but I love that you can see the canopy of our Ranger Tug on the dock, mixed in with the larger boats that you normally see in these waters. Our boat can take us to so many wonderful places!"
