Summer is fully upon us and we hope everyone has had a chance to get out on the water and have some fun!
This month’s theme is: Your favorite boating photo of the summer! – We want to see that photo that you’re most proud of from this boating season.
It’ll be put up for a vote by the folks here at the factory and one lucky winner will receive a pair of custom embroidered Ranger Tugs or Cutwater boats jackets.
To enter the contest, just send a photo with a description or comment to briandickhaut@rangertugs.com
I’ll get us started with a couple shots from our recent Broughton’s Cruise!
We had taken a seaplane to Pierre's at Echo Bay to meet with the rest of the group. This shot was taken during our sea trial aboard R-23 Simpatico. Tim Bates from our customer service team was helping the owners calibrate their auto pilot, and it made for an excellent photo-op. On the quick sea trial we happened across a whale only a few hundred feet from the harbor, it let out a massive sound and after a few splashes it disappeared under the surface. When we returned to the harbor I was able to catch this reflection, and it just reminds me that there is so much below the surface, just as there are so many memories wrapped up in these photos.
This second photo was taken from the cliff top above Pierre's. I love this photo because it was such a trip to get up there. We had just gotten back from the sea trial and the Harbor Master Sam pulled up with his boat not more than thirty seconds after I got back to the dock. He brought me to the other side of the water where Dockhand Elliot guided me up an overgrown trail that wandered up the cliffside. Some areas required a rope to hang on to, as the grade was so steep, but before too long we had a spectacular view of the harbor, the twenty or so Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats, and a grand view of the surrounding landscape. It was only a slight test for my fear of heights but the reward more than worth it.
We can't wait to see the photos that you all have to share!
