Some TugNuts have asked about my bimini shelf. We have made a shelf that is mounted under the bimini top and attached to the bimini frame. This is a simple shelf made from 1x2s and 1/4 inch plywood attached with stainless u-bolts and self locking nuts. The shelf measures 44" x 68.5". The lock nuts allow you to lower the shelf below the supports to allow enough room to store your side panels flat. It also allows you quick access to store or reinstall them as needed.
Side panels slide in from this end and lie flat. No creases or wrinkles, and out of your way.
I added this unpainted stop to keep panels from sliding out while traveling.
This is a close up of the ubolt attachment.
We do not remove our bimini for travel leaving the side panels stored above the shelf. We have trailered over 6000 miles this way with no issues. We have had tall people visit and since head room is only lowered about 4 inches, most people do not notice the shelf at first glance.
