I have a 2015 Cutwater 28 which we purchased in the spring. My wife and I are retired in our 60s and love to crab out of Charleston Oregon. I don't want to hit the side of the boat but keeping the pots off the side is tough. Is there a crab davit that I can get to hand pull in pots? On the aft deck on both sides of the boat outboard of the aft hatches, are two triangle mounts off the deck. They are mounted below the aft deck speakers. It looks like a 2 to 2 1/2 inch hole with side ear slots. Is this brace unit for a davit or something else? If it is for a davit, there is no cut out above that goes into the top hull area were the fish holders are mounted. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You Larry

Larry why hand pull? Us old guys need to save our backs for other activities!
I went with a scotty electric, fits on the down rigger mounts, easy to use, keeps pots away from boat,
Only down side is it doesn't swing so you still have to lift pot over gunwall. I love mine and kicking myself for not getting one sooner. What a great Christmas present for the wife! Price about $350

Larry,
If you have a Scotty downrigger mount on your boat these pullers will get the pot up high enough to swing them in over the gunwale.
Those holes down low with the side slots are to store your downrigger balls.

We use an Ace puller mounted on a Scotty mount. The arm is long enough that you can keep the pots from banging the hull side. I put a yellow zip tie about 10 ft from the bitter end to be ready to catch the trap.
