Hi all,

Every time I need to haul the boat for a few days I need to switch all batteries off and of course the refrigerator also remains off. To do this and not have a wet floor, I need to be at least one hour drying the fridge and waiting for all the ice from the freezer to melt.

Am I being a fool or this is what everyone does when the fridge needs to be off?

Is there a way to “turn only the freezer off”?

Why do the batteries have to be turned off to haul it?

When I turn the house battery off. I put a towel across the top shelf and prop the refrigerator door open. The towel catches the water from tray above and the door opening stops mildew from forming. I keep a bungy cord on the door so it can't swing.

I turn off the fridge so it doesn’t discharge the batteries. Then, as I won’t need any power aboard I turn batteries off too.

Thanks. Basically the same I do, but I wait till the entire fridge is dry.
