It was fun to run into Dave and Bette in Sisu today at Coon Island in the Multnomah Channel. Only two boats at the dock and both Ranger 25s! I have made the run from Portland to Astoria twice in the last year and it is a beautiful cruise. I just found out today about the planned Tugnut cruise and would be happy to take part if anyone is planning for May, June or August. I'm not sure if I can make it next week, but it sounds like that may be off for now.
For those that are new to cruising the Columbia, I really like taking an overnight from from Portland upriver to Beacon Rock in the Columbia River Gorge. The view is spectacular and climbing the 800 ft monolith gives one a sense of accomplishment! The Washington State Park there has a good dock with power, showers, and flush toilets.
