The Fusion does not show up as a device under Media and I can't figure out how, either using the Fusion or the Garmin, to have each device recognize the other. I know that I can start making calls or contact the factory, but thought I could sort this out myself. Any other ideas?

Hello,
As stated above you must access the media tab first in order to turn on and use the stereo head unit via the plotter. Even if it is not on it will say "media device turned off" and has a power button on the screen to turn on. If you continue to have difficulties feel free to email me direct and I could send you a video.
Thanks,
Kevin Lamont
