Wondering if you can let me know what finish is used on a 2021 C30S countertop?
We had issues with a section of the original counter and our dealer we bought the boat from replaced it under warranty.
Unfortunately it is lighter in color and seems unfinished (rough to the touch) than the adjoining portion.
They acknowledged it was wrong and were going to get it fixed (going on a year and a half now)
I have repeatedly requested they fix it but all I get is crickets on their end.
With that I am just going to try and finish it myself.
Is the final finish a stain or just plain varnish or?
Any help is appreciated.

Reposting hoping someone at the factory can help?

Hi there.

The finish should be Minwax Helmsman satin finish. However, one important thing to keep in mind is that the finish is clear and does not add any coloration to the wood. So any difference in color will be that the new piece will always be lighter than an older piece until it gets a chance to age. This is a natural process as the wood is exposed to sunlight over time. For the finish, the difference in perceived "roughness" may just be that the finish needs to be properly sanded. I'm not 100% sure, but 1000 or 1200 grit sandpaper should work well. Hope this helps get you started but let us know.

Cheers!
