I'm told the Cutwater hatches are glass, not plastic. Who made these hatches (2021 model)?

I want to replace the hatch material with acrylic plastic so I can mount a solar exhaust fan within the hatch (I live in South Carolina and use my boat only seasonally (Fall and Spring) and need to keep the air moving when sh'e's in storage oil the trailer).

Thanks.

Hi there,

These are Jim Black hatches. They're widely available. Might be a good idea to buy one to make the conversion with so you don't damage the original, should you goof or decide to switch back. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf

If it were me I would mount it on the deck and also put one in the rear on the roof. When not on the boat I would have one blowing in and one exhausting. This will keep an even airflow and circulation. However, if you can get power while on the trailer a dehumidifier would be better.
