While 175 is better than 195 it is very strange. With all of our Volvo diesels Kad’s And a D4 and our current D6 temperature has always been very constant. Maybe a sensor is faulty? Also, I am assuming no white smoke or anything else unusual, what about exhaust temperature, I forget what it should be so sorry I can’t help on that but maybe someone else on tugnuts can help. But maybe worthwhile watching that next time you are out.

I have found that the running temperature range of my D3 is 173F to 190F. Rpm and load have a influence on operating temperature. Another factor is ambient temperature of the sea water. If the sea water temperature is cooler the engine will run cooler but must stay in the thermostat range. The thermostat D3 and I assume D6 would be similar starts to open At 176F and fully open at 201F. The key is to make sure the after the engine is warm it maintains a temperature in this range at all RPM ranges. Example: If at 3000rpm your normal temperature is 185F and now 175F and when you slow down to 1500rpm and your temperature still stays in the 175F +/- 3F the system is working ok. If you see your temperature drop below 170F at 1500F I would suspect a thermostat not closing properly. Sea water temperature will influence the running temperature of the engine. The Thermostat keeps the engine in the temperature range of 175F to 200F +/- 3F.
