What's the depth of the wood stringers under the engine on a 2021 C-30, and what type of wood are they?
During an engine alignment check, the mechanic found one of the 8 mounting lag screws was stripped in the stringer underneath (port side, forward-most lag screw).
I'll likely go with filler pieces to re-attach and want to make sure I use something of a similar hardness to the wood in the stringer. I'm also thinking of going with a longer lag screw, replacing the installed 3/8" x 2" with a 3/8 x 2.5".
Any concerns that the extra half inch will be too long for the stringer under the engine?
