Hi there. Bought a used 2017 CW 30 about month ago. It’s the diesel inboard with an aftermarket Yamaha 25 kicker installed plumbed into the rudder steering.
Loving the boat and ironing out some kinks due to some deferred maintenance. The crew at Port Boat House in Port Alberni have been super in helping me get the boat straight! Really appreciate their horsing so well with me and their customer service.
I noticed a couple of issues with the power steering where I would have to continually steer to starboard while under way and installed the bar in external check valve and it solved it right away. Did the power purge at install.
The issue it did not solve is that when I try and get my lock to lock count, I get different numbers turning port and starboard. I typically get about five full turns when turning to SB and approx eight turns turning to port. Sometimes I get different numbers as well.
My question is, is this normal? If not, any suggestions as to calibrate it so that I can a more even number of turns.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
