On our 2016 C24 with a 300HP Yamaha outboard, I am not sure what position the Emergency Parallel battery switch should be in, to allow the Yamaha to add charge to the house batteries as well as to the engine battery. I presume that the Emergency Parallel switch should be in the ON position when underway, but this is not clear from the diagrams in the C24 manual that was recently posted. Is this presumption correct?
When at the dock and running the battery charger, I understand that all batteries will be charged even with the Emergency Parallel switch in the OFF position, and that this switch should be kept in the OFF position to be sure that on-board 12-volt loads will not discharge the Engine battery.
