Engine Coolant and Water Heater

When cruising, Is it OK to close the engine coolant send and return valves (to the water heater), that are located at the front of the engine? I still have a small leak somewhere in that loop. Not sure if it would be good for the water heater if it never circulated?
 
Hi RichV,

These two valves are installed for exactly this. If either the main cabin (coolant) heater or the hot water heater connections are suspected of leaking then you'll want to close them to keep coolant in the engine where it's needed most.
