We recently purchased a 2023 Cutwater 32 and have a question about the fish box located on the port side. Whenever it rains, the box begins to fill with water. There is a pump to drain it but that requires flipping a switch. We are leaving town for over a week and don't want it to fill up with water and over flow.
Has anyone figured out how to keep water from entering the fish box to begin with?
Any assistance would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there,

Make sure the scupper drains closest to the fish box are not clogged. Also make sure the gutters are cleared and can drain any excess water. Is there a seal under the box lid?

Thanks,

Ralf

Hi Ralf

Thanks for your suggestions. When we purchased the boat, the hinges were placed improperly and the lid didn't sit properly. We mentioned it and the tech team made adjustments to the top but it doesn't sit squarely in one corner. We believe this is the source of the water. We mentioned this to our service manager and he said every fish box he has seen collects water when it rains. There is a seal but it seems to be located in the wrong place to stop water.

We keep the scupper drains clear and gutters too.

Thanks for your suggestions.
