D&G, It can be done.Looking at Portugeezer's photo's it appears he has the later/wider cabinet? #1--cut a shim the same thickness as the teak cabinet door trim.A little longer & a little wider then the chrome mounting plate.Make the left side fit the curve of the cabinet and the right side flush against the cabinet trim. You can now move the the mounting plate a 1/4" over on to the cabinet door trim. This gives plenty of room for a backer plate on the inside of the cabinet.Aluminum backer plate or 2x4-1-1/2" cut to fit .Wider and longer the better,to distribute the wgt when stepping up on the step.Portugeezer mounted his below the cabinet door ,which doesn't allow you to rest your feet on it after your on the seat(as he noted) This is not an issue since it swings to the left out of the way for cabinet access, without removal. #2--cut 1/4 " off the side of the the mounting flange plate--this it moves over to the right away from the cabinet curvature and flush agaist the cabinet trim--same result as #1. If not making any sense PM me and I'll walk you thru it. Cheers RB
