We purchased our C28 on 8/1/2012. I have filled the freshwater tank twice in the last three weeks. We have used the boat three times yet we have gone through 40-50 gallons w/o using showers and/or sinks. Does this seem normal. One possibility might be the stern helm sink. It just drips. Could there be a loose connection causing water to end up in the bilge?

Does the pump cycle when you're not using water? If you're leaking water when the system isn't pressurized I'd check the tank.

Leaks when the system is under pressure are not uncommon, and yes, the water can drain unnoticed into the bilge. We had such a leak when our boat was new. Easy fix.

The tank, pump and hot water heater (all likely sources of leaks) are behind the forward wall in the aft cabin. Just remove the screws and the panel will come right out. The hot water heater can be moved easily if you spot the leak somewhere behind it.

It might be normal, although it shouldn't be.

We had the same problem, it turned out to be that a hose had come off the water heater.
However, there are several fresh water hose connections and 'Tees' in that area and apparantly it's not unusual for them to pop off.

It's most likely to happen to the ones carrying hot water so you would be well advised to double clamp those.

If you enter the 'cave' and face forward, remove the vertical carpeted panel that runs from one side of the boat to the other, you'll find the hoses and connections in question.

Regarding the stern helm sink......unscrew the faucet head from the water line to see if there is a rubber washer, without this it can creat a leak as I just had in our R27.

Thanks for the responses. I will try the hose connections through the "cave" wall first.

Regarding your leak, is the water pump cycleing?? I would first have the leak under the aft sink to stop leaking. We here at the factory run the pump the whole time we are testing. I would also check the pump and make sure there are no cracks in the filter housing. Please feel free to call the factory and speak to me.
