My FW tank gage is stuck at 1/8 full. We have tried emptying and refill. Thinking it might be the sender unit but can't figure out how to check, or even how to get to it. New FW pump at the beginning of the season (May). Any suggestions?

Hi there,

To get at the sender of the tank, you will need to remove the rat fur covered panel on the inside wall of the quarter berth. Once you remove that panel, you will see the wiring toward the front of the tank. The water tank sits on top of the fuel tank, with the sender and wiring toward the front of the tank. The holding tank sits just forward of the water tank, so make sure you don't confuse the wiring for either of those. I don't remember, but I don't believe there was any sender wiring on the holding tank but am not sure. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf

We had an issue with the tank level sending unit on our 2015 R25SC in season 3 or 4. I took the sending unit out, cleaned some black scum off the rod that the float travels up and down on and put it back together. It worked flawlessly thereafter.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have replaced the gage. Seemed like a quick hopeful that would save having to cut the panel over the tanks. New gage reads a bit over a quarter full now. So I have gained access to the tank tops but its not obvious how to pull the sender unit. It looks like it is just pressed fit. Is it a matter of prying it out?

i guess I should close this out. I answered my own question by researching a replacement sensor. Turns out the sensor is just threaded into the tank top. once I figured that part, cleaning it was possible and successful. Thanks again for the help.
