I am considering adding an H2Out fuel vent line filter and want to confirm the vent line ID (Interior Diameter) for the R-27 Outboard, 2024 model year.

Is it 5/8" ID?

Also, do you have an opinion about the usefulness of an H2Out filter? I had one on my prior boat with a Yanmar diesel and never had any fuel issues.

The R-27 outboard is my first boat with a gas engine. I have been using non-ethanol fuel.

Thanks!

Al

It is a 5/8" ID vent hose for the fuel tank. If you are using non-ethanol fuel (which is good) for your motor, then you won’t need the H2Out filter, but it won’t hurt anything to have it installed.

Hi Jared: Thanks for your reply. I lay up our boat in the water for about 3 months in the winter with the boat at our marina. Since the nearest fuel dock with non-ethanol is some distance from our marina, it is difficult to keep the tank topped off for the winter. Right now I am showing 9 out of ten bars so about 90% full. So even with non-ethanol, I am wondering if an H2Out filter would help to minimize condensation in the tank over the winter.

What do you think?
Thanks
