Does a 2019 Cutwater c28 come standard with a galvanic isolated.

I had a 60 A ProSafe Isolatr FAIL SAFE installed on my 2019 C302 in the forward starboard side of the cave. I'd post the pic, but, see that photo uploading is till dysfunctional The 30 A is likely a better choice if you have a NW model.

Quick dry installation on C26 and C28 under the microwave right next to the ELCI breaker. No need to cut wires there is a terminal block that has the green wire Ground connection termination.This made at the factory for installation of the ELCI Breaker. The ground connection to the galvanic isolator is before the ELCI as recommended for the install. This install requires no cutting of the shore power wires. This is the first break in the green ground wire which follows the galvanic isolator installation requirements "Closest to the shore power plug receptacle"

I made the mounting board and gel coated it so it looked factory, The blower hoses in the back ground are for engine compartment ventilation. A much needed add on to a poorly ventilated engine compartment.

No it is the Microwave/convection oven in Galley

The ELCI breaker is located in the small cabinet under the Microwave/convection oven in Galley. Shown in pic below.

This is a view of the terminal panel with the Green ground and just below it is the ELCI breaker. This photo was taken before I installed the Isolator. It illustrates the ease of the installation at this location. No cutting of the shore cable. Just make up two cables attached to the isolator and install at proper location at the terminal block. I moved the green ground wire coming from the shore power receptacle in cockpit to the top of the terminal block. This isolates it from the bottom terminals. I installed one of the cables coming from the isolator to this top strip. Then installed the other cable coming from the isolator to the bottom strip. Easy installation clean with no cuts to shore power boat cable.

To answer your question does the Galvanic Isolator come standard. It did not in 2019 on C28. There are several threads discussing this on TugNuts. Maybe now Fluid motion has realized that this should be a standard equipment item and does make it standard. I can't understand why it was not. Galvanic isolators have been standard equipment in cruising boats for years.

Thanks to all. I am going to have a gi installed. In the meantime if I detach the shorepower cable and turn off all power draws on the boat will that pause any anode decay. Then when I want to take the boat out plug into shorepower if the batteries won’t start the engine.

To stop galvanic corrosion from other boats via your shore power cable without a GI you must disconnect the cable completely. Shutting off the shore power at the breaker switch will not help. The stray current that causes the corrosion comes via the green safety grounding wire which is not disconnected when you switch off the breaker. This is why the GI connection includes only the green safety grounding wire.

Disconnect the shore power cable and you should be good.

I moved the green ground wire coming from the shore power receptacle in cockpit to the top of the terminal block. This isolates it from the bottom terminals.

How did you identify which green wire was the one coming from the shore power receptacle?
