I purchased, a year ago, the Ranger Tug 25, HIN # FMLT2521A707.
Vessal has factory enstalled GENSET, MASE is2.5S , powered by the YANMAR model L48V engine.
Engine has only 71 hours and has run just fine till now. WILL NOT START.
Getting suficient fuel to injector, to produce the correct spray pattern, acording to MASE.
Valve clearances are per spec. Compression release is not damaged and functional.
Checked compression and getting 300 psi. Service Manuel states, " STANDARD' 360 psi. and " LIMIT" 285 psi. I interpret that to mean the psi should not be lower than 285, nor higher than 360, and all else being functional, the engine should start and run at a compression reading at anything between those two limits.
QUESTION, SHOULD IT START WITH A COMPRESSION OF 300 psi ?
Have I missed checking something else ?
Thank you in advance.
