Has anyone had any problems running your factory installed Mase 2.7KW generator underway at cruise (20kts) or any other speed?

Also, my generator trips the main breaker on the generator housing occasionally at anchor ( and middle of the night- which is even worse having to get out of bed and open housing and reset breaker).
Anyone else experience this problem?

We had the same problem with our Mase 2.7. Our air conditioner would run for 30-40 minutes before the white breaker on the left side of the genset would trip. After talking to our dealer (Seagate Marine in Stuart FL) Tommy called Mase in Ft. Lauderdale and talked to Sergio about our problem. The generator was only putting out 106 volts and Sergio thought it was the capacitor so he sent me a new one. It took about an hour to replace and everything seems to be working fine so far. We have put seven hours on it without tripping the CB. Good luck.

Thank you,
I will check it out a few more times and try to trouble shoot when it is tripping .
Did you replace the capacitor yourself?
If so, was it complicated or do I need to have a service tech do it?

Also, do you run your generator while underway at cruise speeds?
If so , any issues?
Thanks
David

The through hull fitting on the Mase cooling water circuit does not have a "scoop strainer" on it. At cruise speeds it could starve. I have run at moderate speeds (less than 10 knots) with no problems.

Hi David:
Yes, I changed it myself in about an hour. Not sure how the Cutwater is set up, but I had to remove the genset exhaust to gain access to the left cover. One check you can do very easily is to see what voltage the genset is putting out. I saw 105 volts on the AC panel with the A/C on, that's way too low. We do run our generator and A/C while underway. It's been very hot in south Florida this year. We run 12-14 kts without any issues. I'm sure others with a lot more electrical knowledge will chime in also. Good luck.
