The cockpit gull wing seat closure sensors on my 2019 C30 Sedan are reading open (light on) even though both seats are closed and latched. I think that the either the position sensor or magnet in the seat back is dislodged or broken. What is the part number /manufacturer for the sensors? Thanks!

Hi there,

Just chiming in to help with some diagnostic tips before you start replacing parts and spending money. The sensors are in the fwd sidewalls of the seat frames, and the magnets are embedded in the seat shells. (in line with the closed seat) You will see a small circle, about half an inch in diameter, in the frame for the sensor. You should be able to see if the sensors are pushed in or otherwise dislodged by opening the seat and checking the small circle at the fwd side. Only a little bit of increased distance between the sensor and the magnet can cause an issue. Also, check the wiring to the sensors by opening the round inspection plates just foward of each seat. They will have a yellow and orange wire going to the sensors. Make sure that all connections are good.

Sometimes the seat, even when latched, may still be sitting a little high in the front and triggering the warning light. If that's what the issue is, pushing the seat all the way in will resolve that.

Let us know how things work out and we'll help you get what you need.

Cheers!

Ralf
