Heater tanks guage

The heater on my C302 with out boards uses a separate tank for the diesel heater (webasto) the filler cap says it holds 10G of fuel however there is no gauge that I can find. How can you determine the fuel remaining?
It is a real pain in the butt when you run it out of fuel.

Hello,

There is no gauge for the diesel heater tanks. I can tell you that on my 23 (which holds 3 gallons) has not run out and I run the heater ALL the time. They say my unit draws .12-.25 liters per hour. Calculate this to gallons and I will get a minimum of 16 hours of run time for every gallon! If I go to the high end at .25 liters per hour on your boat, that would give you 160 hours of run time on 10 gallons! That would last me all year. You will always need gas on your new boat before you need diesel for the heater. I top mine off every other time I fill up and I have never had to add more than a gallon.
