I just relaunched my 2022 R29 after being on the hard for the winter and the hot water tank is not heating. Any suggestions on troubleshooting?
It was working fine last fall before I had it hauled out and winterized.

On my Whale Seward 6 gallon there is a thermal reset button near where the wires enter the unit.

I would first see if all air is out of the lines; assume that they were drained for the winter. Fill the tank, then open the hot water faucets and ensure the air is out. Finally turn on the hot water heater.

You might check the coolant shutoff valves that circulate hot coolant to the water heater and the cabin air heater and make sure they are not shut off

I am guessing that when the Water System was Winterized they put the Water heater in the "By Pass Mode" so the Anti Freezr wonld not be inside the Tank. I sure the By Pass Valve is still closed, just open it.

I didn't realize there was a bypass valve per se in some R-29's, but another, often used method to bypass the hot water heater during winterizing, is to disconnect both hot and cold Pex lines at the heater and join them together with a short section of Pex to allow anti-freeze to circulate through both hot and cold water lines.

It turned out I just needed to press the reset button. The hardest part was in reaching it in very tight quarters

I also had a problem with our Isotemp water heater. It would get warm but never hot even after running the engine for a few hours. As I was troubleshooting, I noticed that the side of the mixing valve (temperature control) closest to the tank was hot but the bleeder side was not. I found out that it was common for the mixing valve to go bad so I ordered a new valve (ISOTEMP-SFD00011AA) from Marine Parts Source. Easy to install once I gained access and problem solved!

We recently had a problem with our Isotemp water heater while on our ICW trip. One night with cold shower motivated me to get this resolved before there was a mutiny. I used this thread to troubleshoot the problem but nothing identified here resolved the problem. I noticed when the problem started the light on the circuit panel was intermittently not lighting up. Even if the light would not come on I could see the load meter would jump 5 amp when I turn on the water heater circuit. The next day flipping circuit breaker did nothing. I decided to swap out the breaker with an accessory breaker that was not being used. This solved the problem. It was just a bad breaker. Now I have to find a replacement breaker. I hope this helps someone in the future. Just one more item to troubleshoot.
