Installing SmartPlug on R25

I forgot to mention that Ken Smith also indicated they were designing and will start manufacturing soon a dock side adapter for the SmartPlug cord set. This adapter would connect to end of the dock side SmartPlug cord set. It will have some form of integral sensor for cutting off the power from the dock side pedestal if an electrical danger arose -- similar to what SmartPlug has done for the boat's power inlet receptacle. This should be ready for the retail outlets in around 3 months time.

I do believe this is a move by SmartPlug to encourage marinas to embrace the SmartPlug design -- which will be quite a task IMO.

I showed my newly installed SmartPlug products to my Marina's Operations staff people and explained its features and they were thrilled with it all.

I will be an early adopter for sure when Smart Plug does that. Bucking the current standard may be an uphill battle, but I hope marinas will see the benefit. It gives me comfort to know we have reduced our odds of having a fire break out on our boat. But some of that comfort disappears, knowing any boat next to us is unlikely to have as safe a system. (Sigh).
