Leak in forward stateroom

When washing the boat, and hosing inside the forward deck seat hatch used to place feet in, next to the anchor chain locker, water enters inside the state room under that hatch covering liner, and runs down the ledge below the port lights. Within 15 seconds of hosing I will see maybe 1/2 cup of water. Is this preventable, or should I never hose the inside of this compartment?

I would check the upper side of the anchor well. Also check the sea board stops and make sure that the fasteners are sealed really well. If tgey are not sealed properly the water comes in as you are seeing

Well when all is said and done, the foot wells will leak into the stateroom if a hose is sprayed into the wells, per Cutwater.
