Lenco Autoglide (Autopilot for trim tabs).

Thanks Martin, I have read your info on the 4 blade prop and seems like it would be beneficial for us like it has been for you. I'm going to send the unit back to have them test it. Lenco has been very helpful with my issue. Sounds like your vote would be 4 blade prop next as opposed to increasing size of trim tabs?

Martin, are the diameter and pitch of the 4 blade prop the same as your 3 blade prop? Thanks
George

It will be different on an Rt-23.
I know many on a RT23 have used this with success.

PowerTech OFS4R12pclyx200

For the RT27, the factory prop is a Yamaha 3 blade stainless salt water series II, 15 3/4 inch by 15 pitch.

I put on a Power Tech E series 4 blade stainless prop, 15 1/4 inch by 15 pitch. (OFS4R15PCL200).

Martin,
I understand we have different props but how did you know to go down 1/2" diameter on yours?
Thanks,
George

The diameter and pitch are the two variables.
Cupping of the blades, shape of the blades, varies between manufacturers.

Talk with the prop manufacture, get their recommendation, then try it on your boat.

The official stance of Yamaha is WOT on a prop should fall within 5,000-6000RPM.
What you're looking for is a WOT on the new prop that's close to 6,000 RPM. Like, 5,600-6,000, not to ever exceed 6,200. (This is what the Yamaha rep said at the Rendezvous).

The 3 blade Yamaha prop and the 4 blade Power Tech prop I've tested, both hit WOT between 5600-5800 RPM with a top speed of 39-40mph.

After reading Submariner's posts and asking him a few questions, I purchased and installed the Lenco Autoglide on our 2021 R25 OB. Took the boat out today and calibrated, and wow - what a difference! As advertised, the boat gets up on plane quicker, the ride is smoother, and observed fuel consumption dropped at normal cruising speed. Install is fairly straight forward/plug and play (with some helpful advice from Submariner). One difference between the R27 and R25 installs, is that on the R25, you have to take out the refrigerator to get access to the Lenco keypad and wiring. A very worthwhile upgrade in my opinion.

Hi - We have a 2023 R25OB - wondering where you mounted the control box. Behind the fridge? Did you need to use the Control Box Mounting Bracket (SKU:LEN-70568-001). Thanks so much.

Kevin, from Premier Custom Ceramic Coating, has a r25-OB and installed Autoglide with the bracket behind the refrigerator.

I installed mine here on our R-23 (similar helm seat/fridge configuration. No bracket needed.

Has anyone out there installed the Autoglide on a C28? Actually, a C28 with drop fins. It looks like favorable results regardless of the Ranger or Cutwater, so I'm more interested in any install tips and tricks for this boat. Thanks.

I helped my dock neighbor install the Autoglide on his C28.
He doesn’t have drop fin’s though.

Does this do the same function as the Seakeeper Ride system? The Seakeeper Ride looks much more complex and expensive to install
.
https://ride.seakeeper.com/

I was just reading over that literature last night. Autoglide is automatic trim tabs, but not instant. The tabs just can't move super fast. The Seakeeper Ride is claiming that in bad seas they can counter some reaction to wave action to stop some of the roll of the boat, keeping the boat level while it is in motion.

I would also agree that Seakeeper Ride looks more complex and expensive to install.

Thanks all - we have the AutoGlide on order. We also considered the ZipWake system but the new mini controller is not available until mid-summer and it’s 4x the cost + pro install.

I installed autoglide on my C-28 last year (I'm the one Submariner was referring to). Let me know if you have questions on the install.

I'm in the port of Everett. If you are nearby, or I stop by Port Townsend later this year, I wouldn't mind taking you for a demo ride.

Thanks so much! We are out of Port of Edmonds. Will give it a try behind the fridge with bracket. If I run into any trouble I might need a few pointers. Thanks again.

Thank you. I’ll send you a personal message later today.

I looked at the Seakeeper Ride trim tab replacement system at the boat show. It looks pretty sweet. They claim it'll take out some of the roll from wave action while the boat's up on plane, to act somewhat as a stabalizer. The existing trim tabs would need to be removed from the boat. The Seakeeper Ride tabs are glued to the back of the boat with something stronger than 5200 I was told.

$7,500 for the system, plus installation.

This does... look very cool.

My only concern with such an 'active' system making so many mechanical adjustments in such rapid sequence -- is service and lifetime of parts.

SOOOOOO... who wants to be a guinea pig?

What model do you have? I am going to try a set of these, and the 7500 price you quoted is for the RIDE 525...the middle size. I have a 24C so theoretically I would use the smaller size, the RIDE 450....about three grand less. But as the 24C is kind of a 24 and kind of a 27....and the line of demarcation for the two sizes is 26.....it's a coin flip.

Anyone already have these?

Has anyone installed the Autoglide on a 2023 or 2024 R-25? I’m not sure how different if at all that would be than a 2020-2022.

It sounds like a great system but I’m a little nervous as this is a bit more of a project than I think I’ve done before. This seems to be the kit I’d need, plus the NMEA 2000 cable? https://www.lencomarine.com/en/p/15504- ... na-Netwk-F. Does that sound right?

If anyone has pointers on the R-25 install, please let me know? I’d love some help here.
