Loud Alarm!

New to us C28, loud alarm sounded on a test drive. Speaker right next to skippers head. Super loud beeping. Stopped boat, checked bilges, (fine), engine temp 180, any ideas? thanks.

Did you check the VHF radio? Sometimes if there is a vessel in distress some VHF radios will alarm.

hmmm, thanks but a different beep than the distress alarm I've heard many times on other boats. this sounded like high temp alarm?

I've seen this when the batteries were low and someone left the autopilot on.
Terrible noise that was impossible to pinpoint!

I have a C28 also. High water alarm is pretty loud. Could be malfunctioning.

I didn't know this at first. About half way through my maiden voyage brining her down from Seattle, that alarm went off and I had no Idea what was happening! "Am I sinking!" 😳 HeHe. It's been a learning process everyday and I'm having a ball learning it all!

Thanks for those replies. Seems it may have been low coolant alarm. Topped off, no problem since

Might be an issue within the sound system. Bad amp causing feedback in some of the speakers.
