Loud Alarm!

New to us C28, loud alarm sounded on a test drive. Speaker right next to skippers head. Super loud beeping. Stopped boat, checked bilges, (fine), engine temp 180, any ideas? thanks.

Did you check the VHF radio? Sometimes if there is a vessel in distress some VHF radios will alarm.

hmmm, thanks but a different beep than the distress alarm I've heard many times on other boats. this sounded like high temp alarm?

I've seen this when the batteries were low and someone left the autopilot on.
Terrible noise that was impossible to pinpoint!
