I have never had the desire to fire up the range and cook dinner
However recently I got a small pressure cooker and I am trying to ignite the stovetop without any result. I checked for leaks read the manual changed the battery in the igniter. Nothing
The battery igniter will not throw any spark. I tried calling the manufacturer but phone is disconnected. Are these units tested before installation? Again never attempted to start it prior to today
Shame on me I guess

Hello. It sounds to me like you have the Seaward stove and oven in your boat. The ignitor has a battery under the push button which is what I would check. I would also ensure you have the propane solenoid valve open showing you have two green lights on the controller. Make sure your propane tanks are open and you should be good to go.

Thank you,

Hi Andrew, thanks for the reply.
I went and purchased a brand new battery for the igniter to be certain that wasn’t the issue
I made sure the propane was full. I checked the fuse and even replaced it although it wasn’t blown.
I have two green lights. Still won’t fire up. The igniter does spark.
But even when I hold the burner switch down I don’t hear gas.
Unfortunately I don’t have any matches with me. Is possible to bypass the igniter and manually light the burners?

You know, sometimes the safety device in the propane tank jambs up and won't let fuel out. I know of someone who had that problem and I think the propane place resolved it for him.

Sorry igniter does not spark

This solution worked or me....
Turn off propane.
Disconnect gas line from tank.
Open burner valve and wait two minutes.

What you're doing is called "resetting the pressure regulator".

Reconnect gas line, open the gas valve.
The burner should light.

It’s the igniter, I went and got a grill lighter . Where can I get a new igniter

Please call our parts department tomorrow morning and Richard can see where we could locate one. Might help to have your old one out to see part numbers or make.

Thank you,
