Morning,
My wife and I are about to purchase a new left over 2018 CW 28 from my local dealer in NJ. They will no longer be selling CW boats. They will however keep selling the Ranger Tugs. Will i still be able to get my warranty and service work done at this dealer? I'd like to know i have my selling dealer behind me from day 1. There is a new CW dealer farther away, but i don't care to take my boat there as a matter of convenience. I'm getting the trailer with the boat so its not an issue to get to either place if i have to? Its just past experience tells me that nobody treats you as good as your selling dealer. I am assuming my dealer has a full service service department, but i must admit i never really asked ? I look forward to your response.

I actually own a 2017 C28 that i purchased used from a wholesaler broker but it was originally purchased from Winters who I believe you are referring to. I am located closer to the new dealer in ocean county. I wouldn't see why winters wouldn't be able to considering they will still be RT dealer and parts and systems are very similar if not all the same on most models. But I think you would need to reach out to RT/Cutwater for a definite answer.

Where will you be keeping your boat?

I am certain you will find that Ranger/Cutwater will not only stand behind the warranty but will work with both the selling dealer and any qualified marina repair near by. While they would prefer you go to your selling dealer they realize the distance for many purchasers is just not feasible. Besides if they still sell Ranger Tugs there is no real change with their relationship with the parent company. I would think the dealer would be able to confirm this. I don't see you having any problem. Customer satisfaction is there number 1 asset.

When the West coast wakes up I am sure someone from the manufacturer will reply.

From my past experience in purchasing a C26 New! I would have full confirmation from the dealer of how Warranty and delivery will be done. I would express the importance of this issue with the selling dealer. I would also email the customer service Department at Fluid Motion industries and ask how the warranty will work. Assuming that Ranger Tug and Cutwater are the same company. Which they are, it probably isn't an issue. I can't stress enough, PDI forms for both Volvo and Cutwater be included in your delivery, filled out and checked off with you. If your dealer doesn't do this. The forms are available on TugNuts in bulletins . Print them out give them to the dealership and ask that they be completed during commissioning and completely reviewed during delivery. Issues that are found if any should be addressed before possession. A full sea trial should be provided and while the sea trial is commencing all of the Volvo PDI items should be checked off again. You and the dealer should sign off on them. If you and your dealer do a complete PDI together and address issues at delivery. Warranty issues should be minimal. The issues I had were all from manufacturing, issues that should have been addressed from commissioning and revealed during the PDI. Unfortunately the PDI was never done. I stated this in your previous post. Do your homework up front, Dealership with a good service department, PDI's completed, issues addressed before possession, Sea trial so there are no surprises. If you do this your experience with your Cutwater will be awesome.

I remember your boat. Saw it at the Blue Claws Stadium boat show last fall. Beautiful vessel! Enjoy.

We are working on a New Jersey rendezvous through Clark's Landing. Maybe you be able to join us.

Hello Will,

Yes, your dealer will still be able to help with service and warranty. If you ever have questions after you've taken delivery and the dealer can't assist we can always help as well.

Thanks,
-Kenny
